The theme for today’s novena is HOPE AMIDST SUFFERING
Reading: Job Chp 19 vs 25-27
“But I know there is someone in heaven who will come at last to my defence, even after my skin is eaten by disease while still in this body I will see God. I will see him with my own eyes and he will not be a stranger”
Reflection: Job a prosperous and righteous man got it all- wealth, a big family, respect. Then all of a sudden he loses everything, his possessions, his kids and even his health. It’s like a domino effect of disaster. But Job even when he’s scraping by, covered in sores and feeling completely abandoned, he doesn’t completely let go of the idea that there is something more beyond his current suffering. He wrestles with God and questions everything, but refuses to curse God. Eventually God does respond and Job is restored, even beyond what he had before. The story of Job is a testament to the enduring power of hope. This hope isn’t always bright and clear but raw. It is a reminder that suffering is not the final word, and that hope, in its most resilient form, can sustain us through the darkest of times.
Let us hold onto hope for divine intervention that will reveal the purpose behind our suffering and pray that the Holy Spirit shows us that God is sovereign and totally is charge of our lives.
