The theme for today’s novena is HOPE IN GOD’S PROMISES
The Call of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3)
The Lord called to Abraham, “Leave your country, your relatives and your father’s home, and go to a land that I am going to show you. I will give you many descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will bless you and make your name famous, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse those who curse you. And through you I will bless all the nations”
Reflection: Throughout Abraham’s life, his hope was tested again and again. Years went by without the promised son. He faced famine, conflict, and the constant uncertainty of being a nomad. But each time, his faith in God’s word, his hope in those promises sustained him. The promise acted as an anchor for his soul. Even when the waves of doubt or difficulty crashed around him, that hope kept him grounded and moving forward. It wasn’t always easy but his story is a powerful illustration of how hope in God’s promises can shape a life and even change the course of history.
Let us trust God’s promises for our future and pray to the Holy Spirit to show us what God has called us to do for him.
