Buying a Ticket
What’s the cost of a ticket to the kingdom of God. Everybody wants to get in. Jim Reeves sang a song about it :
Unfortunately we can’t pay for this ticket with GooglePay or through RTGS. It’s rather like an alternate dimension movie because while we are living out our normal lives the Kingdom of God is right among us. In Luke 17:21 Jesus is reported saying “Behold the kingdom of God is in the midst of you”
Here’s our question (and we are sure that this would be your question too ) ”The Kingdom of God is a great place, I’d get healing, I’d get my problems solved, I’d get surprises from my Heavenly Father, I’d get peace and joy and freedom from tension but how do I experience that I’m in the Kingdom here and now and how do I make sure that I’ll get to Heaven when I die?”
How does the Kingdom of God come upon us? What’s the ticket?
Jesus himself got tremendous power to do miracles, drive out demons and heal people. He was always in prayer “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35 Praying was a habit and that was His ticket to Kingdom Power. And the Bible reports Him fasting too. In fact he told His disciples: “So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” Mk 9:29
