We are in Lent, a time of preparation. In roughly three weeks we will commence the Novena to the Holy Cross. Jesus said “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” All of us in Matharpacady are descendants of pilgrims. Our ancestors came from Utan, Bhayandar, Gorai, Kalina, Bassien and other places like Goa and Mangalore in the hope of making a better life as Bombay of then (now Mumbai) developed into a maritime centre of shipping and trade.
Today as Christians we are still pilgrims heading for the Kingdom of God. In the following weeks we will be sharing with you some videos and thoughts to pray about, to share and discuss with your family and to help you on this pilgrimage:
