The Matharpacady Residents Welfare Association organised the Whist Drive at St. Isabel’s High School hall on Tuesday evening, 13th June 2017. As usual, Mr. Gerard Viegas alongwith, Stanislaus Baptista, Percy D’Souza and Dennis Baptista conducted the Whist Drive. The  twenty eight happy  participants were eagerly applying their minds and skills at this enjoyable card game in friendship and cheer, in two sessions of six card games each. Hot tea and piping hot snacks were served at the break. 

Attractive cash prizes were awarded to many winners from the highest to even the lowest scores.  The delighted recipients – Ms. Lena Fernandes, (Orlem, Malad)  with 95 points was the first prize winner with the highest points. The prize for the highest score in the first half was awarded to Ms. Patricia Adams (IC Colony, Borivili) with 50 points and the prize for the highest score in the second half was shared by Mrs. Brenda Texeira and Mr. Joaquim Siqueira with 44 points each. The prize for the lady with the lowest score was given to Mr. Archie Coelho (played as a Lady) with 61 points and the prize for the gent with the lowest score was given to Mr. Bernard Alphonso (70 points). All the winners received their gifts to much applause from all the others present.

Mr. Dennis Baptista, thanked the participants and guests for making this a happy memorable function, besides the Trustees & Management of St. Isabels High School for the use of their premises.  Mrs. Renie Baptista invited all participants to take part in the Monsoon Splash on Sunday, 18th June 2017 at St. Isabels High School from 4.00 pm onwards. The participants thanked the Committee members for bringing them together at these functions in the spirit of friendship and camaraderie before bidding “Good Night” and were looking forward to more such sessions.
